- THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE YOUR REPAIR FACILITY
If you do not have a favorite body shop, ask around! Talk to friends, family, coworkers, etc. to see if they have had a good experience (or bad experience) with any particular shops. You want to make sure the facility you use has a good reputation for taking care of their customers.
- THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE YOUR REPAIR PARTS
Before an accident even happens, READ YOUR INSURANCE POLICY! Make sure your policy states that you are always entitled to the use of OE (Original Equipment) parts. This allows you to make sure that the parts that are recommended by the manufacturer are installed during the repair process.
- THE RIGHT TO A PHYSICAL INSPECTION
“Photo Estimating” is the new trend among insurance companies where they base your estimate of repair on a photo showing the vehicle damage. This is a flawed idea – they cannot possibly see all the damages on the car in a picture. Therefore, this kind of practice results in low-balled estimates, and improper repairs. Ask for a physical inspection!
